Pictured above is Adam wrestling in the gym his Senior Year. in 1978-1979 Steve Swanson wasn’t hired yet and Adam’s father coached him. Mr. Ron Isola was the Riordan official person who sat in his corner as a coach for CCS and State. Adam won the CCS and took 3rd in the State this year.

*Note Nick Stanfel ’83 with the scarf as he was battling brain cancer. Nick went to SH to teach and coach before the brain cancer returned and took his life. The Stanfel Trophy was originally a Football and wrestling trophy but the football coaches stopped sharing the trophy and it became only a FB trophy.

2013 Top 20 in California State Wrestling Championships
Backed on the outstanding performances of Elijah Davis making it into the Finals and finishing in second place and Zac Contreras finishing in fourth place the two put Archbishop Riordan High School in the top 20 of the California State Championships. California is a one division state with over 600 teams competing.
